Boxten Tambulasi Centre for Human Rights, Education Advice and Assistance (CHREAA)

Boxten Tambulasi

Boxten Tambulasi is a Paralegal officer with nine years experience working with non-governmental organizations promoting human rights and rule of law. Boxton currently works with the Centre for Human Rights, Education Advice and Assistance (CHREAA), an internationally recognized organization that enhances access to justice and bridges the gap between informal and formal justice systems in rural Malawi. At CHREAA, Boxten oversees programming in Mwanza and Neno District, in particular establishing community legal clinics where community paralegals interpret common laws and statute. This work is especially critical since Malawi’s laws were written in a foreign language and almost 78 percent of the population cannot read or write. Boxten has dedicated his life to being a voice for the voiceless in marginalized communities.
