Sylvester Honny Grassroots Justice Network
Sylvester Honny works at the Grassroots Justice Network in Africa to promote learning in the legal empowerment field through the legal empowerment cycle. Prior to joining the Grassroots Justice Network, Sylvester served in various capacities at the POS Foundation, Ghana, as a Paralegal and Project Manager in charge of Access to Justice of the Foundation. He was a member of the facilitating team of the State-led ‘Justice For All Programme’ for remand prisoners aimed at decongesting prisons, and deputy programs lead for the In-Prison Paralegal Program [IPP], advocacy for the amendment of the New Narcotics Control Commission Law 2020 [Act 1019] and the introduction of Ghana’s first draft community sentencing bill. As an advocate with over ten years of experience, Sylvester possesses in-depth knowledge and experience in national and international human rights practice, prisoners’ rights, advocacy, public and community education, and legal reforms within Ghana’s criminal justice delivery system.
